Carrie Underwood, The Band Perry and Miranda Lambert: in America they are superstars and they sell out stadiums on a weekly basis, no time for them to visit Europe. Luckily enough, this side of the pond has Eve McKing!
With her clear, strong voice she knows how to win the hearts of every audience. Either in that local pub or in a sold out stadium. Eve McKing brings an energetic combination of singable pop, glamorous country and fierce rock. Her straightforward lyrics directly get to you: “three chords and the truth is all you need”.
Eve is born into an ordinary family and grows up in the countryside. She discovers and develops the power of her voice at a young age by screaming as loud as she can during the fights with her two older brothers. Being the babygirl of the family she needs to be fierce to be able to play with the big guys, something that never changed.
Eve is born as Yvon Mocking and starts singing professionally at age 21. On stage she can share her energy with others and that gives her all the adrenaline she needs in life. In 2011 she starts writing her own lyrics, and being a 90’s kid who grew up singing Alanis Morissette, Anouk and K’s Choice, she feels her music has to have lots of guitars in it. With the help of producer George Konings she records her first 4 songs of which the drums are laid down by Hans Eijkenaar (Anouk). In February 2013 Yvon releases her first single “She Waits”, including a video, which she produces single handedly.
Along a dirt road she finds 4 musical fellows and with them she rocks the Sugarfactory (Amsterdam), De Helling (Utrecht) and even the legendary Tivoli Oudegracht (Utrecht). She also performs twice on 3FM national radio. After frequent requests from her fans about an album, on the 25th of September 2014 Yvon releases her first EP “Get To Know Me” in a packed EKKO in Utrecht, compiled under her own management.
2015 sees her play in dozens of bars and several festivals such as Willem's Wondere Weiland and Koppelpop. Yvons’ highlight of 2015 is the support show for Dutch rockband Bløf in front of a crowd of 2.000 people. In 2016 she does that again but then as support for Guus Meeuwis.
At the end of 2015 Yvon gets inspired by American pop/country songs of artists such as Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert. Together with the older country songs by Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt she finds that the dynamics and straight forward lyrics of country music suit her well. Gert-Jan Stehouwer (Life’s Electric) and producer Robin van Loenen (Destine) help her record two new singles of which “Roll with the punches” was released in February 2017. New music, new name…………Eve McKing is born. Only one week after the release Eve is asked to play live on national radio 3FM (Giel Beelen OnStage) and Roll With The Punches gets airplay on Radio2 (Bert Haandrikman). She makes the success complete with an energetic release show in Utrecht. 2018 brings new music and Eve is the support act for the Canadian country artist Whitney Rose.
Eve McKing has played more than 500 live shows and is persistent to achieve her goal: being one of the few female artists to rock the Alpha stage at Lowlands Festival…
