Why only female country artists
Because women are dominating the American country charts and creating some of the most exciting music in the genre right now. Yet many of these artists rarely make it to European stages, despite a huge and passionate European fanbase. And while their success continues to grow, women remain underrepresented as headliners at major country festivals. By putting their music front and centre, I want to give these artists more attention and recognition. On a personal level, this music simply feels closest to me. I connect with the stories, emotions and perspectives in a way I don’t always connect with male country artists. That makes it possible for me to perform these songs authentically.

Bio
Eve McKing is the country alter ego of Yvon Mocking. I am an energetic, versatile performer with a passion for powerful country songs. With 800+ live shows under my belt|(buckle), I know how to connect with diverse crowds. I've built a reputation as a captivating live performer, appearing at festivals and venues across the Netherlands. My career includes performances at Paaspop, Zwarte Cross, Tivoli and live appearances on Dutch National Radio.
Discovering Carrie Underwood in 2013 was the start of writing my own new country songs and performing them at numerous venues and radio stations. I was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Dutch Country Music Awards and even got to perform my own music live with Giel Beelen on Radio 3FM.
I loved playing country music, but the flat Dutch musical landscape simply wasn't ready for it. So in 2020 Eve McKing went M.I.A. and during that time, I realised that writing songs isn't what I'm passionate about. My passion is performing and making sure that everyone at my show has a great time. Combined with my love for country music and the progress I'm seeing in the popularity of the genre across Europe, I decided that it's time to bring Eve back.
So today, I bring all my experience to New Country Queens, celebrating the biggest female voices in modern country and ready to make the whole crowd sing along. See here how we kicked off this project with an exhilarating live show at a packed DRU poppodium. As you can see I've put on my boots again and I'm ready for the ride!
